Now, this is a big deal.. how in the hell did they bring these back? Tall T’s remind me of high school, skinny boys running over to their local Footlocker store to buy these oversized T’s in every primary color available. They would even wear two or even three layers at a time! But beings a young teeny bopper, we loved it. Looking back at it though…SMH.

But now, I’ve seen a few reinvented Tall T’s in the current market that are fitted and more stylish. Let’s shine the spotlight on byHOT. Creative director Rodney “HOT ROD” Bethea turnt this hideous trend into an urban London street style look. This style fits the long and lean men who has the confidence to rock a dope version of a nigh gown. He added a long slit on the side and a yoke seam. Some styles have the leather yoke with a shoulder zipper. The sleeves are long (to the elbows) but are tapered to the body. Chris Brown wore a striped byHOT shirt to the filming of his next video “Beat It Up”. Let’s just say, not everyone guy can pull this off.

How exciting!!! You will have a blast. I did! The Philippines is unique world destination, with all the gorgeous white sand beaches, clear blue waters, agriculture, and the SHOPPING!  But if you haven’t been there before please take note of a few things that I wish I knew before going…

1. Bring cash with you and exchange portions of it when you settle in. Only bring one major credit card just for emergencies (Visa and Master Card). This will help you control your spending. Remember once you exchange the US dollar to peso you cannot exchange it back. (or at least I couldn’t). Shop for the best exchange rate also.

2. Pack very light. Honestly, the weather is so unpredictable that it is was difficult  to know what to pack. Once you get to the PI, everything is so cheap that you can update your summer wardrobe there!

3. Brush your teeth with filtered water. I know, that sounds soo snobby, but you really should. The water there is not drinkable and if you are brushing your teeth with the facet water you are just more likely to get sick.

4. Wear long sleeve shirt and yoga pants/leggings to bed. Bed bugs are no joke there! They love some fresh American skin too!

5. Bring bug protectant spray and itch cream. Trust me, you will need it.

6. Sunblock! I am usually not a fan of sunblock because I want to get as tan as possible. But the sun in the PI is nothing like the sun here in the states. It is brutal.

7. Shopping. Greenbelt was my favorite mall to shop at, because it’s out doors had all the best stores. But if you’re looking for a market place to get all your favorite knock offs, Greenhills in San Juan is the spot.

8. Ladies, bring Tampons! I’m not sure if they don’t believe in it but I was not able to find them at the common grocery stores.

9. Always bring sheets of toilet paper with you, they will not have any available in any of the public bathrooms. Bring that, or have change with you to buy some. It’s terrible.

10. Lastly, arrive with an open mind. Philippines is a completely different world than the world we are used to. So forget about comparing the PI with the US. They are a developing, and it is what it is and it’s beautiful.

I am already juiced for this movie, and  now having listened to the soundtrack made the anticipation event juicier!! (lol sounds a lil intense eh?) Jay Z was the executive producer of the entire The Great Gatsby soundtrack album and he made sure to include all his dope friends such as  Andre 3000, Lana Del Rey, Will.I.AM, Q-Tip, Jack White, The xx, and his beautiful queen Beyonce. WIth a tribute to a few great past artists like Amy Winehouse and Louis Armstrong. He produced a beautiful balance between the 1920 jump n’ jive jazz and dance/electro beats. Thumbs up!

I will now be listening to this entire album all day for the next few days, if not all month. Listen to it and tell me if you don’t agree with that statement.

Now that the spring and summer is here, pieces of her collection is available to us all.

The inspiration to this collection is connecting cultures, using prints of stamps, back notes, and foreign money. But look at the silhouettes, straight and boxy shapes. It’s to compliment the boldness of the prints. The use of the vibrant colors and enlarged prints on simple and clean silhouettes is executed sooo beautifully. I’ve never been soo in love with an entire collection where I would purchase every piece in this collection, if I had the funds to do so.
